Am an experienced accounting and audit professional, with experience of over 10 years. I have held management level positions in Lycamobile Uganda, Regal Paints (U) limited, Abet & CO. CPA and Nova marine freight services (U) limited As Management Accountant in Lycamobile Uganda, I streamlined the operations of Accounts departments in relation to Receivables Management & Payables Management and changed the posting & reporting from monthly to daily. I also do routinely analyze the Invoicing of Customers, Computation of VAT, PAYE and NSSF, Filling of Tax returns (VAT, PAYE, and Income tax). I also do the accounts Department supervision (directing, controlling & appraising Accounts staff), check general Ledger entries, Chart of Accounts management, Verification, and analysis of financial information & cashflows, and Management reporting.
As Internal Auditor in Regal Paints, I reduced fraud to the minimum that in the first 4 months I made the company save more than 40M in stock pilferage & under declaration of money. I oversaw audit planning & audit programming. verify daily cash collections reports, daily cash collection & banking reports, Ensure perpetual stock take, good Corporate governance, compliance to Statutory regulations and Company internal control procedures, Review internal control procedures, Conduct audits, and report findings & representations to Mgt, Check & Verify payments to ensure appropriate support, in order to minimize on misstatements and fraud, financial information & cashflows, SAP system analysis for violation of Credit limits & credit period, Identifying of any possible risks that may arise against the company, and devise ways of mitigation, This led to the growth of regal Paints from a small to a big Paint Manufacturing entity, that rose to more than 200 workers from formerly only 86 workers and taking over the Sadolin franchise in Uganda, hence 2 manufacturing entities Regal and Sadolin.
As Auditor with Abet & CO. CPA, I helped in retaining existing Clients and attracting new ones, through my exemplary audit work by Carrying out independent audits on client organizations both in the Public and Private, Perform independent reviews and assessment on the Financial Statements of Local Government authorities and Non-governmental Organizations,
As Assistant Accountant in Nova Marine Freight Services (U) Ltd, I introduced payment requisition approvals and reduced on costs that were not adding value to the company. I also supervised all the accounts staff, reviewed bank reconciliation statements, oversaw the customer billing & Payables management, Monitored the company’s bank transactions and accounts.
